Coming from the peninsula of Jylland on the E45 motorway, choose the M8 motorway direction Sønderborg and cross the waterway of Alssund via the new bridge on highway (A8).

Continue on A8 on the island of Als right through the next 2 roundabouts.

600 Meter after the 3rd roundabout you turn right onto district road 427 in the direction Kegnæs/Skovby on Skovbyvej(427). After 15 km you arrive in the village of Skovby, where you continue right on Kegnaesvej in direction Kegnæs.

Follow the road across the dam and straight ahead until arriving at Damkobbel midway on the peninsula of Kegnæs, where you turn left towards Østerby.

Passing a few small farms on the right and left, you will have the view over the Baltic Sea/Flensborg Fjord and Germany on the other side of the fjord. You now go down the hill and up again and you are in the village of Østerby. On your left you'll notice a low, longish yellow building.

Coming from the island of Fyn take the ferry Bøjden-Fynshav. In the village Fynshav, turn left at Danebod Højskole following Østkystvejen towards Skovby/Kegnæs. In Skovby, drive right through on Kegnæsvej. Thereafter follow directions as above.
